New govt formation in limbo

New govt formation in limbo
Kantipur Report
KATHMANDU, June 3 - Giving a complete shape to the new government seems to be further delayed with the differences among the major parties' claim for important and powerful ministerial portfolios.

The Cabinet formation has been in a limbo following the dispute among the coalition partners over the distribution of ministerial portfolios.

Nepali Congress (NC) has demanded the Foreign Ministry along with Development and other important ministries.

Meanwhile, Madheshi Janadhikar Forum has demanded Deputy Prime Minister, Local Development, Water Resources, Home, Physical Planning and Education Ministry.

Similarly, the voices have been raised within the ruling party CPN-UML, saying it will be uneasy to work in the government if important ministries are not under its control.

Likewise, the NC leaders have expressed dissatisfaction over the issue of giving party leadership in the government to Sujata Koirala with the Foreign Ministry portfolio.

Former Prime Minister and Nepali Congress (NC) President Girija Prasad Koirala Tuesday proposed to send the party in the government under the leadership of his daughter Sujata during his discussion with the NC and the UML leaders including Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal.
