After Ramechhap, Kaski and Bardia districts, local population in the remote Jajarkot VDC of Tanahu have begun vacating their ancestral homes.
The reason is the continuous threats coming as it does from the local Maoist cadres to their precious lives.
More than one hundred such individuals along with their family members arrived in Damauli Bazaar demanding security from the non-existent State.
The villagers claim that the local Maoists’ party in-charge and the party cadres have begun threatening and thus they have fled from their respective villages in order to save their lives.
“We will not return home unless safety is adequately guaranteed by the local administration”, the displaced villagers say.
The displaced group consists of forty women and sixty men as of now which may swell son if the threats continue.
