Missionaries in Nepal

The founder of Gospel for Asia says the nation of Nepal is on the brink of crisis that could threaten the lives and work of missionaries.
Recently, riots broke out in the capital of Kathmandu. The crisis began over a dispute between the ruling Maoist party -- which won the recent elections -- and the opposition over integration of former Maoist rebel fighters into Nepal's regular army. Gospel for Asia Founder K.P. Yohannan says the tension threatens ministry workers and those they serve. "My heart just aches when I think about John 10:10 where Jesus says that Satan, his purpose is to destroy and kill everyone. And we need to pray for God to protect this country from further crises so we will have the opportunity to share the gospel," he believes. "Ultimately, the only hope for the country of Nepal, or any country, is the Lord Jesus Christ and people following Him." GFA has planted more than 300 churches and has two Bible colleges in Nepal.
