Law department of the army headquarters has started investigation on Khadka’s speeches and interviews given after the previous government appointed him the acting CoAS.
“We have started investigation into the case,” BA Kumar Sharma, chief of the department said.
Khadka had claimed in some media interviews that, officially he is the army chief, but had not assumed any roles of the chief at the headquarters. I am the acting chief as appointed by the government; I would have complied had the President sent me a letter instructing me to remain in previous position, Khadka had said in an interview with Naya Patrika.
Khadka claims he should not face court martial, as he had to bear the responsibility of acting chief of army staff, as he was second in line for the post. nepalnews.com May 28 09
